The following is a brief history of Blake & Pendleton, Inc.

 

Walter H. Blake and C. Roberts Pendleton founded Blake & Pendleton, Inc. in Macon,Georgia in 1971.  Their mission was to supply engineered pumping systems and specialty machinery to the paper and kaolin industries in Middle Georgia.  Walter Blake was a mechanical engineer (Penn State) from Pennsylvania who moved to Macon in 1951 to sell conveying equipment to the kaolin industry.  C. Roberts Pendleton, a native of Macon, was an aeronautical engineer (Georgia Tech) and was Chief Engineer of Georgia Kaolin Company.


In 1973 Gerald L. Peterson, an electrical engineer (Michigan State) and former employee of Allis-Chalmers Pump Division, joined the company.  In 1976, J. Allen King, who was an industrial engineer (Georgia Tech) and former employee of Armstrong World Industries, also joined Blake & Pendleton, Inc.  In 1980, Gerald L. Peterson and J. Allen King purchased Blake & Pendleton, Inc. from its founders.  In 2010, Gerald L. Peterson retired after 37 years of service to the company.


After over 40 years of servicing industries using the latest technology in pumping, compressed air, heat transfer and mineral processing equipment, Blake & Pendleton has witnessed steady and profitable growth.  Blake & Pendleton now has over 130 employees at nine branches strategically located in Alabama, Georgia, Northern Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee. 


Providing the best possible service to our customers is our continuous objective.  We accomplish this by hiring and continuously training qualified personnel to select the right product for each application.  Our staff of sales engineers and inside application engineers have many years of experience designing the most efficient and productive systems for industrial applications.



We also provide technical and service support for the life of the equipment.  In our service department, we offer on-going training to keep our technicians current on the latest technology.  Furthermore, Blake & Pendleton, Inc. maintains a large inventory of spare parts and we are able to ship or deliver the correct parts immediately.  Blake & Pendleton, Inc. understands that performance is crucial in any industry.  We strive to use the most efficient and cost effective measures to keep our customer's operations running smoothly.
